Will a stray or feral cat actually use it?
Most do within a few nights. Put it where the cat already sleeps, tuck a little food just inside the door, and fold the front flap back for the first week. Once they've felt the heated pad, they come back on their own.
How warm does it actually get?
The pad holds a steady 131°F at the surface and every wall, the floor and the roof are foil-lined, so the inside stays far above freezing even at -20°F outside. It draws 23 watts — about the same as a light bulb.
Is the heating pad safe to leave plugged in?
Yes. It's UL-certified, the cover is fire-retardant, and the cord is chew-resistant with a sealed rubber grommet where it enters the house. It's built to stay plugged in from October to April.
How big is it? Will two cats fit?
25.6" long, 16.9" wide, 17.7" tall, sitting 6" off the ground. One large cat has room to spare; two average cats fit if they get along.
